BENGALURU: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Saturday reaffirmed that he and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah remain united, dismissing speculation about internal differences within the state Congress leadership. Speaking at a joint press conference at the Chief Minister’s residence, Cauvery, Shivakumar said both leaders would strictly follow the guidance of the party high command.
“We are together. Whatever the party decides, we will implement it. We are loyal soldiers of the Congress,” he said, stressing that discipline and unity remain their top priority. Recalling past instances of patience and loyalty, Shivakumar noted that despite being denied a cabinet berth in 2013, he continued to work for the party without protest.
The Deputy Chief Minister added that he and Siddaramaiah are committed to strengthening the party and preparing for the 2028 elections, ensuring MLAs and workers remain motivated and empowered. He described their breakfast meeting as a positive step and said Siddaramaiah would visit his residence for dinner soon, reflecting their continued camaraderie.
“The Chief Minister and I have always worked together. The support from party workers across the state keeps us united,” Shivakumar said, underlining that leadership harmony remains intact within the Karnataka Congress.
