Washington, Nov 10 (IANS) — US President Donald Trump will attend the swearing-in ceremony of newly appointed US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, at the White House on Monday, the administration announced.
In an official email on Sunday, the White House confirmed that President Trump will take part in the event, marking the formal induction of one of his closest aides into the key diplomatic role. Following the ceremony, Gor is expected to assume charge in New Delhi in the coming days.
Gor, 38, was confirmed by the Senate in October and will become the youngest-ever US Ambassador to India. A long-time associate of Trump, he previously served as Director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office, overseeing the vetting of over 4,000 appointments across the administration.
His appointment is seen as a reflection of Trump’s intent to strengthen strategic ties with India while ensuring close coordination on trade, defence, and regional security issues. Gor’s extensive experience in political administration and proximity to the President are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the next phase of US-India relations.
