CHENNAI, Nov 13 (IANS) — The Tamil Nadu government on Thursday announced a three-percentage-point hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees, teachers, pensioners, and family pensioners. With this revision, the DA will increase from 55 per cent to 58 per cent, effective from July 1, 2025.

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin made the announcement, stating that the revision aligns with the recent DA hike implemented by the Union government. The move is expected to benefit lakhs of serving and retired state employees across Tamil Nadu.

In an official release, the state government reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of public servants and citizens, noting that Tamil Nadu continues to lead the nation in implementing progressive welfare measures marked by “care, compassion, and commitment.”

The statement further highlighted that government employees and teachers form the backbone of these initiatives, ensuring that welfare schemes are effectively executed and reach every deserving beneficiary at the grassroots level.
