Rajasthan govt defends SI recruitment process; HC seeks response on appeal

Jaipur: The Rajasthan High Court’s division bench on Monday issued notices on the state government’s appeal challenging the single bench order that cancelled the Sub-Inspector (SI) Recruitment Examination 2021.

A bench led by Acting Chief Justice S.P. Sharma issued notices to petitioner Kailash Chandra Sharma and other respondents, directing them to file their replies. The matter has been listed for the next hearing on January 5.

The state government, in its appeal, contended that the entire selection process should not be scrapped due to the alleged misconduct of a few individuals. It argued that invalidating the full recruitment would unfairly penalise thousands of candidates who appeared for the exam legitimately.

The division bench will now examine the government’s submissions along with the single bench findings before deciding the future of the recruitment process.
