CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare and upliftment of all communities, with special emphasis on empowering Scheduled Caste (SC) students. Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur announced that the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Post-Matric Scholarship Portal has been reopened for the academic year 2025-26, allowing students to submit online applications until December 29, 2025.
Dr. Kaur said the decision to reopen the portal will ensure that eligible SC students receive timely financial support while making the application and verification process more efficient. She also highlighted that the government aims to extend the benefits of the scheme to 2.70 lakh students during the current academic year.
So far, 2,49,620 applications have been received, out of which 1,26,722 have already been verified on the portal. The Minister further informed that financial assistance from the State quota has already been released to 19,871 students for 2025–26, and the remaining eligible beneficiaries will be covered soon.
