New Delhi, Nov 9 (IANS) — From the bustling streets of Patna to the global stage of diplomacy, Dr Anjani K. Sinha has embarked on a remarkable new chapter, officially assuming charge as the United States Ambassador to Singapore this week.
A Delhi University alumnus and renowned orthopaedic surgeon, Dr Sinha described his appointment as “a deep honour,” expressing commitment to strengthening ties between the US and Singapore — a relationship rooted in shared priorities and nearly six decades of partnership.
“I am deeply honoured to represent the US in Singapore, a key hub for American business and a pillar of regional stability,” Ambassador Sinha said upon his arrival. “President Trump has asked me to enhance our cooperation with Singapore in areas such as technology, energy, and security.”
Before entering diplomacy, Dr Sinha earned acclaim as a leading orthopaedic surgeon and entrepreneur. “As a physician, I’ve spent my life connecting with people and delivering results — a spirit I hope to bring into diplomacy,” he added.
Accompanied by his wife, Dr Kiki Sinha, a retired anesthesiologist and NYU faculty member, Ambassador Sinha’s journey stands as a proud testament to Bihar’s growing global footprint and India’s contribution to international leadership.
