Male: Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu on Monday expressed deep gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Government of India for their continued and generous support towards the Maldives’ socio-economic development. The remarks came during a meeting with Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu, who called on the President in Male.
In an official statement, the Maldives President’s Office said that President Muizzu acknowledged India’s vital contribution to several developmental initiatives, particularly highlighting India’s assistance in the timely completion and opening of the Hanimaadhoo International Airport, a project expected to enhance connectivity and boost economic growth in the island nation.
President Muizzu reaffirmed that India remains a steadfast and reliable partner in the Maldives’ development journey. He also expressed confidence that ongoing bilateral projects would be completed and operationalised without delay, further strengthening cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.
The meeting underscored the spirit of collaboration between India and the Maldives, reinforcing their shared commitment to regional progress and mutual prosperity.
