Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee Cancels Membership of Three Former Presidents

Published On: October 27, 2025

NEW DELHI
: Sardar Harmeet Singh Kalka, President of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), stated that an important and historic decision was taken today at the committee’s special general house meeting, unanimously canceling the membership of three former presidents—Sardar Manjit Singh GK, Sardar Paramjit Singh Sarna, and Sardar Harvinder Singh Sarna.

Sardar Kalka stated that this decision was taken after a thorough investigation into long-pending complaints and in accordance with the directives received from the Gurdwara Election Director and the Delhi government. These complaints included serious allegations of misuse of Gurdwara funds and breach of trust.

He further stated that a detailed report was sent to 50 of the 51 surviving members of the committee, of whom more than 17 sent written recommendations demanding strict action against the erring members. Following this, a special session was convened today to consider the matter.

Sardar Kalka said, “The guilty members were given an opportunity to defend themselves, but sadly, they did not appear and shirked their moral responsibility.”

During the meeting, several members—such as Sardar Bhupinder Singh Bhullar, Bibi Ranjit Kaur, Sardar Gurdev Singh, Sardar Inderjit Singh Monty, and Sardar Parvinder Singh Lucky—unequivocally stated that those who misuse the sacred daswandh (donation) given to Gurdwaras are unworthy of leading the Sikh community.

The House then passed a resolution to revoke the membership of the three former presidents with immediate effect and decided to forward this resolution to the Delhi government in accordance with the Management Act.

Sardar Kalka emphasized, “This decision was not taken against any individual, but to preserve the sanctity and moral integrity of Sikh religious institutions. The treasury of the Guru’s house is a sacred trust of the Sangat, and anyone who violates this trust will be held accountable both legally and morally.”

With this decision, Sardar Kalka said the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee has set a new benchmark of transparency, integrity and ethics in Sikh institutions.
