CHANDIGARH: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday said his recent visit to Japan and South Korea has received an exceptional response from global investors and is set to become a major milestone in the state’s industrial advancement. He said the tour has further strengthened Punjab’s position as one of the country’s most attractive destinations for investment.
Sharing key highlights of the visit, the Chief Minister said he presented Punjab as a rapidly emerging industrial hub, with a clear focus on securing new investments and creating large-scale employment opportunities for the youth. He added that the objective of the trip was to accelerate industrial expansion and open new avenues for collaboration in high-growth sectors.
Mann said that during his meeting with Senior Managing Director of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Ogawa Kazunori, the institution showed strong interest in assessing Punjab’s industrial and clean-energy project proposals. Both sides agreed to continue technical discussions on possible financing routes.
He further noted that Aisan Industry Co. Ltd’s CEO Tomonori Kai and EVP Toru Nakane expressed interest in exploring prospects for manufacturing and R&D in Punjab. Likewise, Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd executives Tanaka Hiroki and Suzuki Mari showed willingness to examine opportunities in electric mobility, research partnerships, and skill development initiatives.
