Bihar Cabinet Clears Dissolution of Nitish Kumar Government After NDA’s Big Win

Patna: With the NDA securing a sweeping mandate in the Bihar Assembly elections, the formal process of forming the new government is now underway. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday chaired a Cabinet meeting in which the proposal to dissolve the 17th Bihar Assembly was approved.

The meeting, held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, was attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, along with all ministers of the outgoing administration. Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary said the Cabinet endorsed the dissolution of the present Assembly, which is set to end on November 19. He added that the Cabinet also acknowledged the commendable work of officers and staff involved in conducting the Assembly elections, and legislators congratulated Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for securing a decisive public mandate.

Following the Cabinet’s approval, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited Raj Bhavan and submitted a formal recommendation to Governor Rajendra Arlekar for the dissolution of the current government, paving the way for the formation of the next NDA-led administration.
