Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s ongoing visit to Japan has begun delivering strong results, with the state set to attract major investments and build new international partnerships. According to Punjab Education and Information & Public Relations Minister Harjot Singh Bains, the Chief Minister’s leadership and strategic diplomacy are opening fresh opportunities for the state’s skilled workforce, supporting long-term economic growth.
Bains said that the visit has already led to a significant achievement — a landmark investment agreement with Toppan Speciality Films Private Limited (TSF), a leading Japanese company. Under this MoU, Toppan will invest Rs 400 crore in Punjab, marking an important milestone ahead of the 6th Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit 2026. The deal strengthens Punjab’s position as a rising global destination for industry and innovation.
He added that the Toppan project reflects CM Mann’s vision to connect industrial development with skill enhancement. The proposed Skilling Excellence Centre will provide industry-ready training, improve youth employability, and help establish Punjab as the skill hub of North India. Bains noted that the Japan visit not only promotes Punjab’s governance model and development plans but also boosts its global presence, signaling that the state is ready for forward-looking partnerships and modern infrastructure.
