Madhya Pradesh will celebrate International Geeta Jayanti on December 1 with a state-level mass recitation of the 15th chapter of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita. The event, planned on an unprecedented scale, will take place simultaneously across all development blocks, district headquarters, and divisional centers.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the initiative aims to unite people through the timeless teachings of the Gita. Students from government schools, inmates in jails, and citizens from all walks of life have been encouraged to participate in the collective recitation programme.
Highlighting the cultural and spiritual significance, Dr. Yadav recalled that Lord Krishna imparted the eternal wisdom of the Gita and had also received his own academic training at the historic Sandipani Ashram in Ujjain around 5,000 years ago.
Appealing to the people, the Chief Minister said it is the duty of every citizen to celebrate Geeta Jayanti with devotion and enthusiasm, ensuring that the message of righteousness and knowledge continues to resonate across society.
