Ranghreta Dal warns statewide agitation if Raja Warring is not arrested within a week

Phagwara: The All India Ranghreta Dal on Sunday issued a strong warning that it would launch a statewide agitation in Punjab if state Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring is not arrested within a week for allegedly making a caste-based remark against former Union Home Minister Buta Singh during the Tarn Taran bypoll campaign.

The announcement came after an emergency meeting held at the Phagwara residence of the organisation’s national president and former minister Joginder Singh Mann. The meeting was attended by state president Joginder Singh Tiger, state committee members, and district unit heads. Mann, who is also the nephew of the late Buta Singh, condemned the alleged remarks, calling them “highly objectionable” and an insult to a respected Scheduled Caste leader within the Congress. He criticised the delay in action, stating that the issue demanded immediate intervention.

AAP spokesperson and Phagwara constituency in-charge Harnur Singh (Harji) Mann assured the organisation that action, including the arrest of Raja Warring, would be ensured. He said derogatory statements against the Mazhabi Sikh and Valmiki communities would not be tolerated and must be dealt with strictly to prevent recurrence.

The meeting also discussed longstanding issues affecting these communities, with Harji Mann pledging to help resolve matters related to the police, civil administration, and state government. Several prominent leaders and representatives of the Ranghreta Dal participated in the deliberations.
