NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended warm congratulations to Nitish Kumar after he took oath once again as the Chief Minister of Bihar. Calling him an “experienced administrator,” the Prime Minister praised Kumar’s longstanding reputation for delivering good governance in the state.
Nitish Kumar was sworn in at Patna’s historic Gandhi Maidan, where Governor Arif Mohammad Khan administered the oath of office and secrecy. The ceremony was attended by several senior leaders, marking yet another chapter in Kumar’s long political journey at the helm of the state.
Sharing his message on X, PM Modi wrote, “Congratulations to Shri Nitish Kumar Ji on taking oath as Bihar’s Chief Minister. He is an experienced administrator with a proven track record of good governance for many years. My best wishes to him for his tenure ahead.”
Prime Minister Modi, who landed at Patna Airport around 11 a.m., travelled to the venue by helicopter. Notably, this is the first time the Prime Minister has attended Nitish Kumar’s swearing-in ceremony, even though Kumar has taken oath five times since Modi assumed office in 2014.
