JAMMU: In a significant crackdown under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday attached the property of an alleged drug peddler in the Narwal area of Jammu city. The action forms part of the department’s ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in the region.
According to an official statement, the police seized a Scorpio S11 vehicle worth approximately ₹15 lakh, belonging to Vishal Kumar of Narwal. The attachment was carried out under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act. Vishal Kumar, son of Ram Singh and a resident of Boot Polish Mohalla, Rajiv Nagar, is accused in FIR No. 295/2025 registered at Police Station Bahu Fort under Sections 8/21/22/25/27A/29 of the NDPS Act and Section 111 of the BNS.
The property attachment was executed by the Investigating Officer in charge of the Narwal police post, following legal procedures laid out in the NDPS Act. Officials stated that such actions are part of a broader campaign to target the financial assets of individuals involved in narcotics-related activities, thereby weakening their operational networks.
