Bihar Victory Energises BJP in Kerala Ahead of Local Body Elections

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, Nov 13 (IANS) — The Bharatiya Janata Party’s impressive victory in Bihar has sparked celebrations across Kerala, giving the party a significant morale boost ahead of the state’s local body elections scheduled for next month.

Party leaders in Kerala said the Bihar results have reinvigorated grassroots workers and strengthened confidence as the BJP gears up to make substantial gains, especially in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. At several locations across the state, enthusiastic BJP supporters took to the streets to celebrate the Bihar mandate.

The BJP currently holds 35 of the 101 wards in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation, positioning it as the main Opposition. In comparison, the Congress-led UDF controls only 10 seats. The party believes the renewed momentum will help expand its footprint in local self-governing bodies.

With the NDA’s strong performance in Bihar dominating political discussions, BJP leaders in Kerala are confident that the “next big surprise” could emerge from the state’s upcoming elections, signalling a possible shift in the political landscape.
