NEW DELHI, Nov 12 (IANS) — Canadian Minister of International Trade Maninder Sidhu is set to visit New Delhi from Wednesday to explore new avenues for strengthening trade and investment relations between India and Canada.
According to a statement from the Minister’s Office, Sidhu will also travel to Visakhapatnam on November 14 to participate in the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Partnership Summit. The summit will bring together global business leaders, policymakers, and investors to discuss opportunities for collaboration in emerging sectors.
During his visit, Minister Sidhu will focus on advancing Canada’s long-standing commercial ties with India, particularly in key sectors such as artificial intelligence, clean technology, and digital industries. He will also hold discussions aimed at expanding trade partnerships that generate mutual growth and create jobs in both countries.
The visit is part of Ottawa’s broader effort to strengthen engagement with major Indo-Pacific economies, with India identified as a crucial partner in Canada’s strategy for sustainable and diversified global trade.
