‘Teacher of the Year Punjab Award 2024’ Honours Excellence in Education at Khalsa College of Education, Amritsar

Amritsar, Nov 9 (IANS) — The ‘Teacher of the Year of Punjab Award-2024’ ceremony was held at Khalsa College of Education, G.T. Road, Amritsar, with the support of the Khalsa Global Reach Foundation (US). The event celebrated the dedication and excellence of educators from across Punjab.

Out of around 40 applicants, 10 outstanding teachers were specially invited and felicitated for their remarkable contributions. Narinder Singh, Head Teacher of Government Primary School, Jandiali (Ludhiana), was honoured with the ‘Best Teacher Award’, receiving a certificate of honour and a cash prize of ₹1 lakh. Hindi Lecturer Dr. Haribhajan Priyadarshi from Government Kanya Senior Secondary School, Malout, and Science Mistress Rupinderjit Kaur from Government High School, Safuwala (Moga), received awards of ₹25,000 and ₹15,000 respectively.

Additionally, ETT Teacher Munazza Irshad from Government Primary School, Bhandal Dona, was conferred the Punjabi Bhasha Ratna Award for her efforts to promote the Punjabi language. Several educators, including Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Palwinder Kaur, and Amanpreet Singh, received special recognition.

University Registrar Dr. Khushvinder Kumar and Academic Dean Dr. Surinder Kaur congratulated the awardees, emphasizing the vital role of teachers as nation-builders in a rapidly evolving technological era. The event was attended by senior university officials, dignitaries, and students.
