GNDU ‘B’ Zone Youth Festival Concludes; Swami Sarvanand College Wins Overall A-Division Title

Amritsar: The three-day ‘B’ Zone Youth Festival of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) concluded on a grand note, celebrating the rich cultural and literary talents of students from affiliated colleges. Organized by the Department of Youth Welfare from November 2 to 4, the event also set the stage for the Inter-Zonal Youth Mela, to be held from November 7 to 9.

In the A-Division, Swami Sarvanand Memorial College, Dinanagar, claimed the overall championship, while Shanti Devi Arya Mahila College, Dinanagar, and Sri Guru Angad Dev College, Khadur Sahib, secured the first and second runner-up positions, respectively. In the B-Division, S.L. Bawa D.A.V. College, Batala, emerged as the overall winner, followed by Sikh National College, Qadian, and Guru Arjan Dev Khalsa College, Chohla Sahib, who shared the first runner-up title. Majha College for Women, Tarn Taran, took the second runner-up spot.

At the valedictory ceremony held at the Dashmesh Auditorium, Dr. Rajesh Kalia, Deputy Registrar and Finance Officer, GNDU, presided as chief guest and felicitated the winners. He urged students to balance academics with cultural and social pursuits, noting that “this very stage has nurtured many artists who now shine nationally and internationally.”

Dr. Amandeep Singh, Director, Youth Welfare, commended the participants and organizers for their dedication and expressed optimism for the upcoming Inter-Zonal Youth Mela, emphasizing that the festival not only showcased student talent but also inspired greater enthusiasm for future events.
